Not sure if everyone realizes it but we have professional guys that tour, are on tour or are session guys that frequent this forum. For some of you it doesn't seem like that is an issue but some of us want to put our best foot forward no matter what. I realize it may not be the best analogy but I think the point is a professional should be very adaptable in a variety of situations when called upon. I also told her she needs to develop the instinct to to park no matter what. She asked "why" I tell she has to learn correctly because she may drive some vehicle that doesn't have it, it's a convenience that becomes a crutch. I tell her never to use it and learn to back up in the parking spaces using the lines. I am teaching my daughter to drive and my Nissan has a rear camera. Or society is built up with crutches for everything. Using a transpose feature is not something I would ever do. I think that explains a lot of people's attitude towards what they are doing as musicians I for one, think paughrock is right because of how I was trained. It may be interesting to see how you guys think of yourselves as players. so it's the transpose button to the rescue. Notice of an entire set-list key change, days before the gig, can really throw off my solos. Really it's just about being comfortable with the "patterns" you've gotten used to in the proper key. although with a couple days practice, I'd be up to snuff. I'm sure some of the better players on here can switch to any of the 12 keys on a dime, for an entire set of 35 or so songs.

With the transpose button issue, on the PRO side we are simply arguing out of timeliness and efficiency regarding getting the gig done with sudden notice of the key change. Yeah, like we're going to do a 3-chord blues where every time the chord change happens, we're going to hit the transpose button? That is NOT the assumption people were making. – Plug in the gate-in only and it is used to randomly transpose the output pitch. But of course much more is possible.I hear people arguing in support of the transpose button, but the assumption is that the song you're playing will stay in that one key the entire time.songs change key mid-song. – Plug in the Gate-in as well and you have a gated quantizer – If you then plug in the CV-in, the module switches to continuous quantizer mode, Gate-out sending midi clock date – If neither CV-in nor Gate-in are used: CV-out and gate-out are used as midi to cv interface.

This can be done in a simple way which is sufficient in most cases, or you can specify the behaviour in full detail. For each of the four possible modes (cv and gate not plugged in, cv only plugged in, gate only plugged in and both plugged in) you can configure the function of each input and output. Tubbutec µTune can detect wether an input is used and change the configuration accordingly.

Can detect if input is plugged in and change behaviour accordingly which makes the module extremely flexible
